- Welcome to Grounded Yoga & Wellness
Grounded Yoga & Wellness is a studio located in Grafton, Ohio co-owned by Becca Wohlwend & Alyssa Welch. Grounded Yoga & Wellness is built on the philosophy that yoga is about connection and unity, health and wellness, accessibility and presence.
We are known in our community for creating an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming, trauma-informed, and accommodating to all levels of practice. Our practices are not just about the physical practice, but implement other limbs of yoga to guide practitioners towards a connection with their mind, body, breath and spirit. We host weekly offerings in our brick & mortar studio, as well as local & international retreats. Whether you're brand new to yoga or are an experienced yogi, we will meet you where you are, as you are. Becca started her yoga journey in 2010 as an at home practice. Her initial journey with yoga began very much as a physical practice; she knew nothing about breath work but still loved the way yoga made her body feel. After having babies and a multitude of health issues while combating anxiety and depression, Becca's practice quickly became very focused on the power of our breath (pranayama) along with meditation, and she began to delve deeper into the other limbs of yoga. She believes that a well-balanced practice can be used as a tool in holistic healing. She received her RYT 200 in April of 2019, her 300 hour Teacher Training in 2024, and is currently working towards her 500 hour. She also has completed trauma-informed trainings, which is a fundamental influence in the way she teaches and practices. Alyssa's journey with yoga started after she had her first son in 2012; being a new mom she needed some time to herself so that she could be a better mom to her little guy. She only practiced at home for a few years and she really enjoyed the quiet time and the workout. Then it continued to evolve and has turned into a passion of hers. She decided to become a yoga teacher as a way to share her passion with others.
Alyssa completed her RYT 200 in April 2019 and an 85 hour prenatal training in May of 2022. She loves what yoga has done for her and for her perspective on life and she is very excited and honored that she gets to share it with others.
